Frente started over 30 years ago with Labour of Love on MDS (Mushroom Distribution Service) and quickly graduated to the heartland that is Mushroom where we were supported and encouraged to be unique and to do it our way - and so, it is with keen delight that we celebrate Mushroom’s 50th!

Mushroom 50 Live is a celebration of Australia’s most iconic music company, with some of the country’s most adored artists across multiple generations set to come together for one incredible night this November.

To commemorate Mushroom’s 50th anniversary, dozens of artists will hit the stage to perform 50 songs for 50 years in a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Frente are taking time away from the recording studio to play a handful of special trio shows in the mighty Premier State.

Angie, Simon and the wonderful Sophie Koh will bring you an intimate and eclectic set that includes your favourites from the earliest days of the band right through to first plays of songs from the forthcoming record.

Dear Everyone, Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID 19 today. As a result, the Always Live Marvin the Album Brunswick Ballroom show has had to be postponed to Thursday 16th February 2023. Simon, myself, and the band are deeply disappointed to have to reschedule and are saddened to think of all of you that travelled interstate and beyond to attend the show. We sincerely hope that you can make it to the new date. All existing tickets will remain valid for the new show date. If you are no longer able to attend, the option for a refund will be available from Thursday 24th November until Thursday 8th December. Please contact your ticket provider to assist. We have a few words we’d like to share with you all -

‘Happy Saturn Return to our dearest child, now a fully fledged adult in the whirled, Marvin.

You have given us wings and that has been no ordinary thing for these earthbound lifers. The thrill of the very first time I heard you in all of your mastered glory has not abated.

I find it hard to believe that you chose us to be your vessels of sound.

Here are few words about our dear friend Marvin:

Angie: Sitting in egg-chairs, in the live room of Platinum Studios, listening to the final mixes of Marvin is a moment that is etched in my mind forever. As we drenched our ears in the work that we’d done, I was as high as a kestrel. When we set out to make the album, I was 19 years old and everything that had happened so far with the band was beyond my expectations. We wrote with the ferocity of young people that didn’t doubt that they had something to share. It was an intoxicating time and the fact that it lives on to this day is just a gift. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this album’s story, from the first formation of the band, to now, our wonderful behind-the-scenes champions along the way to our current team, and all of the listeners that continue to share the ways in which our little cluster of songs on a disc have become synonymous with snapshots of some significant times in their lives.

Simon: At the end of the first long night of pre-production, in the fabled York Street Studio in Fitzroy, Michael Koppelman of Paisley Park fame, having listened to and arranged the songs that would become Marvin the Album said: "We have left the shore...". That moment of beginning, of departing is still incredibly vivid, but the voyage began years before, when Angie and I met across the Back Bar in the Punter's Club and became friends and allies.

We were not completely ready to record Marvin - listening to it now I can hear things I would love to add or change - but as a snapshot of who we were then it is perfect.

We released it and somehow, almost unbelievably, people liked it. You liked it! So this re-release is dedicated to you, who have let our little stories into your lives and made Marvin the man he is today - wide open eyed, serious, delirious.....

In gratitude, Simon.

It’s a genuinely thrilling time for us to be revisiting this record and it fill us with happiness that so many of you love Marvin as much as we do.
